Eric POV:
The foyer was filling up as guests started to filter in through the main doors of the pack house. Father and I were on greeting duty along with the Silvers’ family.
I tried my best to force a welcoming smile on my face as I ushered people who despised us into our home. It wasn’t as if they didn’t have good reason to look down on us, but an alphas’ pride isn’t an easy thing to suppress.
Veronica Silvers was enjoying herself a little too much, but I had to admit she was great at bullshiting. I wonder if she practiced her fake hospitality in the mirror before laying it on our guests tonight.
I was taken by surprise at my sudden hatred towards her. I’ve never been fond of her, and there were many things about her that irritated and annoyed me, but we grew up together.
