Zack’s POV

His back hair was slightly burned. The small flame was blown to his side by the wind and scattered by his claw. He protected her very well. I looked at the scene in front of me and felt sour in my heart. She was my mate, mine! Annieka and I were together, but that didn't mean I didn't love her. No male would keep calm when his mate was with another man!

We knew that here was not a good place for fighting. I didn't know why he would like me to take her out until I saw his human form, the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack.

My chest gave out a groaning sound. She was sent to the clinic for emergency treatment, while I faced off with Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack in the open space.

"Why did you save her?" I expected his answer to be helpful, but his expression obviously wouldn't give me the answer I wanted. His fist was clenched, his arm muscles were tight, and his blue tendons beat with his pulse. He looked very angry. His tone also revealed the message. He replied, "you won’t expect her to die from the fire, will you?"

I watched him change back to human form and took out two packages from the trees and threw one to me with clothes inside. He was premeditated and planned to fight with me. Two wolves fought with each other. And one of them didn't even know why. It was inexplicable and strange.

Yes, I would regret it. I have regretted it all the time since I found that Aniga was my mate. It was the path I chose. I must stick with it. He seemed to know something about Annieka. We can discuss about Annieka later. Now I just wanted to figure out their relationship.

"So how are you two related?"

"Just have a guess, puppy."

I watched him disappear into the dark night. Her window was open and the curtain was dancing with the night wind. I stared at the window until the day was coming.

Aniga’s POV

I was woken up by a knock on the door. Someone came to inform me that they wanted to ask some details on the fire. I arrived at the appointed place, there was only Zack in the room. He spoke first before my greetings.

“What’s your relationship with the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack?” He stood up and walked towards me. I looked at his gloomy face, and opened the door behind me unconsciously. I wanted to flee from him, right now. I didn’t know the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack he mentioned. I didn’t want to be questioned by him because of a stranger, I didn’t want to answer his questions after his rejection to me because of another woman.

He grabbed my arm when I almost stepped out of the room. I was pulled back into his chest with his strength.

“What are you doing here?”

His voice was not loud, and his tone was mixed with a trace of anger. His amber eyes narrowed slightly. Obviously, he was not very happy. Zack stepped back to give way to him and said politely, "good morning, Alpha ·Kylin. Sorry for our disturbance, but this is our business. Please don’t mind."

His name was Kylin. Like a scanner, my eyes skimmed over his eyebrows, nose, lips and jaw under his black curls. He was Kylin, my brother. I felt like blisters emerging from the hot spring. I was excited but dared not show it. I was afraid that this was just a beautiful dream. Maybe the Moon really heard my prayer that I hoped he was alive.

I watched him turn around and then leave here. I watched his broad shoulders and strong arms. He had already been an excellent Alpha, though not the Alpha of Blue River Pack, he didn’t let anyone down. I shouted loudly, not at him, more like a way of venting myself, “I know your past, I know where you came from, your family. I could tell you in detail. This was good news. I comforted myself, at least, he was still alive. If he forgot his past, I would try my best to help him to recover his memory.
