“Place your phone, keys and any metal you have on you here.” The officer slides a metal tray over to Electra. This is the last security check Electra has to go through before she can enter the prison. She does as she is told, going as far as removing her pant belt, placing it in the tray before she steps through the metal detector. This is a routine she’s used to. She gains an entry pass when the machine makes no noise. The officer nods for her to go on. She walks into the state prison, her heart beating fast against her chest. This isn’t her first time here.
