“You look beat.” Nikas says, observing the dark circles that line beneath Electra’s eyes as he sits across from her. “Have you been sleeping well?” Nikas asks. Electra sweeps her fingers through her dark mane, pushing her long hair back as she lets out a tired breath. “Hardly.” Nikas sighs. “You should go easy on yourself.” “Easy for you to say. I can’t help it.” Nikas sighs, hating himself. Hating himself for making his baby sister suffer because of him. He is supposed to protect her. Not to make her life even more difficult. He regrets every minute of the foolish decision he made that night. He wants to get out of here as quickly as possible. That's the only way to ensure his baby sister is fine. “Any luck with the hunt for a lawyer?” Electra shakes her head. “Still searching.”
