Ready, Electra stands in front of the full-length mirror, watching her reflection. The green, short-sleeved, knee-length dress is a perfect fit. A golden broach; the only embroidery on the dress hangs on her left breast. She glances at the desk clock on the vanity table. 6:50pm. Almost time for dinner. She smooths her dress to still the quivering in her hands. It does nothing to relieve the tension in her chest. Her father will be here. A chill travels down her spine at the thought. She takes deep breaths and counts along with each breath until she counts to ten. Exhaling one large gush of air, she stills herself before she steps out of her room.
