Confrontation
“Then who has her? Who attacked my people and took the Charm?”
That was the question he’d asked Carq. The man had shaken his head, as much at a loss as Egan was.
“It could be anyone,” the costell had answered.
Carq had then offered fresh soosh to return Egan and his men to Unurit, but Egan had refused. Turning on his heel, he’d briskly walked out of the audience chamber and away from the fortress.
That was several hours ago. Since leaving Bein, Egan had racked his brain, trying to figure out who had taken Genesee. He knew there was an underground faction who worked out of Goddenslau.
