The seatbelt snapped and performed its job without hesitation, burning Jayson’s neck and winding him briefly. When the vapor cloud overtook them, it burned his eyes and throat. He glanced across the console and coughed his response. “s**t!” The shock on the woman’s face turned from disbelief to anger, apparent in her glare. She unlocked her elbows and took her hands off the wheel, snatched her sunglasses from her face and jerked her head around. “Bloody hell are you doing here!” She grabbed the cap from his head. “Are you crazy, Jayson Riley!” Her eyes grew larger and bluer.
