Dear Father,
We are wealthy beyond our wildest dreams!
The bounty left by the marauders who first took the galleon is more than we had hoped for! We found a hidden cache filled with heavy silver plates, gold-hilted swords glittering with jewels, and chests filled with gold chains and another small trunk with loose jewels: rubies, emeralds, sapphires and diamonds. We shall live out our days in ease. I have enclosed a few of the gems as a gift.
Mary Read has taken a husband, a handsome young man we took from a small prize ship. I am very happy for my friend.
