CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR It was late morning when Audrey left the heat of the library and stepped out into the cold air. She embraced the icy prickles, keen to shake off the deep sadness that had enveloped her. Not just the death of Robert Oakes, but the suicide of Edward Holden. Thankfully, Malcolm was available to meet for lunch, and the thought was already lifting her spirits. Every now and then, as she walked through the small town, a guest from her tea party would say hello, and Audrey rejoiced in the friendly conversations.
