CHAPTER FIVE The Falcon had no pretensions of being a gastro-pub, but Audrey liked the look of the sandwiches and put in an order. Ted and Heather, who were the licensees for the popular chain, had managed to create a personalised environment. Although the decor clearly followed the brewery’s company lines, extra little touches were distinctly Hawksmead, especially the old framed photographs taken of the local cricket team, the rugby club, and summer fetes held in the grounds of Hawksmead College.
