CHAPTER FORTY-TWO Audrey returned to her ward and retrieved the five twenty-pound notes that Tina had withdrawn from the ATM and Audrey had hidden in her pillow slip. In the bedside cabinet, she found her house keys. Why they had been discarded on the floor in her hallway she had not the least idea, but the fact that Tina had also found her suitcases packed and in the hallway told their own story. She knew she was not yet strong enough to be officially discharged from hospital, but she had to get Bobby’s diary. That was all that mattered to her now; that – and leaving Hawksmead for good.
