The huntress and her mate

chapter one

April's POV

"My name? My name is April, April Morgenstern, I am I werewolf and vampire hunter. I am called hunter, huntress, slayer, runer, but my most favorite is that they call me shadowhunter. The reason for calling me shadowhunter is that I only attach at night and I always hide in the shadows. I am very easily trusted. "

I wake to the sound of metal being bent then snaps. I look outside and see that it is still nighttime.

Others would probably freak out from hearing that, but I hear it on a regular basis.

I stand up then squat down so that whoever it is can't see me. I start to slowly and quietly move to my weapons. I see some pebbles, right next to my weapons. I grab a handful of pebbles and chuck them at the window. The person turns towards the door and starts to cautiously look around. I then quickly grab my weapons and throw a dagger at a window, it shatters and the dagger lands in the grass on the other side of the window.

I then run over to the window and jump out while I grab my dagger and get behind a bush to see what this person was up to.

I don't see the person so I start to get away from the building when I hear a gun c**k. "Get your f*****g ass off of my land before I shoot you, and if I see you again you will be shot on sight." he says.

I turn around and look at him.

I then raise a eyebrow, he puts his finger on the trigger. I just look at him then sharpen my eyes and his eyes go red. he then points his gun to his head.

He puts his gun to his head. he doesn't look away from me, 'Everyone is scared of me, so why isn't this guy?' I then see a single tear fall from his eye, his eyes flash gold. 'Werewolf, I knew it.' he starts to get into my head. He is just staring at me, but he doesn't move, he is standing his ground. He then pulls the gun away from his head.

I hear a old screen-door open. He throws the gun aside. I hear footsteps come close. I see a little girl with a stuffed puppy, rubbing her eyes and says, "Daddy? Daddy, what are you doing out here? Mommies worried about you." the little girl no older that five says.

I look at the little girl then her father, I walk over to her and crouch down in front of her. she is looking down, probably from fear. I put one finger under her chin so she looks at me and the whole time while doing this her father was growling at me. "What is your name sweetheart?" I ask her.

"Corrine, Corrine pike." she says trying to be brave.

"Hello Corrine, you have a lovely name and a lovely home." I say

"Thank you, Ms. stranger." she says not knowing my name.

"Corrine, may I ask how old you are?" I ask actually interested because she seems very intelligent for her age.

"I am eight years old." she says very proudly.

"Well that is awesome. Do you know what you are?" I ask her genuinely curious.

"That is enough, get out of here and off of my land." Her father says in a very angry voice.

"What do you mean? she ask not knowing anything. I look at him then back at Corrine.

"You little one, you are very special, You will do great things, you are a born leader,---" I say to her, but unable to finish when more wolves start to circle us without little Corrine knowing. there are also vampires just on the border of the tree line.

I quickly grab out my stele and draw on my hand a sun rune. I quickly grab Corrine and hide her from the light, closer to me. Corrine automatically hugs me back from me putting my arm around her.

I see all the vampires run and hide from the light, and the werewolves turn away from us from the brightness of the light. Corrine hugs me tighter, and hides under my trench coat.

"your, your the, the runer, aren't you? aren't you?" by then end Corrine's father was yelling at me, he didn't see it but he was scaring Corrine.

I stand up and pull Corrine up with me and hold her gently against me. "What if I am? What are you going to do about it? I don't think you want to pull anything in front of your daughter, do you?" I ask, more like challenging him to make a move.



He growls, I flash my eyes as 'cat eyes' and let out a burst of energy, not to hurt anyone, but to show him I have power and I dare him to challenge me. He then looks around at his pack members then goes on one knee and bows, a lot of the others do the same.

Just a handful of 3 and another man comes running over to them. he looks at them then at me, I instinctively place my hand on one of my many daggers. He then looks at me, we are just staring at each other, he then looks at down. I follow his gaze, he was looking at my hand, at my ring. I quickly look back at him and he the same, except he looks to the side, not looking at me.

Jay's POV

I ran to my pack, they needed me. they said that the runer was there. I have to get to them.I was tracking them when I smelled this amazing smell, like lavender and rosemary. I follow the sent and find myself seeing my pack submitting to the runer, all except for my beta, gama, and one of the border watchers. I then look at the runer, and I see that she is beautiful. She puts her hand on a handle, dagger, sword, or maybe, just maybe it is a dagger with wolfsbane on it. I then look at her hand and see a ring on her ring finger, I use my enhanced vision to see it says 'believe'. I then look to the side of me slightly angred.

I see that she has little Corrine, I make a move to walk over to them but the 'runer' grabs little Corrine's hand and pushes her behind her, like a protective mother would.

April's POV

I pull Corrine behind me, and stand my ground to this alpha, I grab out my stele and three of my throwing knives. "I want to make an offer, to your pack." I say staring at the alpha and not looking away.

He doesn't look away from me but opens and closes his mouth a couple of times. His eyes suddenly glassed over, like he is talking to his pack. I quickly turn around and squat down and look at Corrine, her eyes aren't glassed over. I then look over my shoulder at all of the pack members eyes, all are glassed over. I slowly stand up and turn around, I put my stele away and grab another set of throwing knives. His and the packs eyes stop and go back to normal, but I am still on edge. "What kind of offer?" He asks skeptical.

I look over my shoulder at Corrine and then back at the alpha. "You and your pack wouldn't have to be bound to the moon anymore." I say he doesn't look convinced yet. "you don't have to change into a well you know, every full moon." I shrug my shoulders in the end. His mouth slightly drops open, he closes it and looks up at the sky, the moon is full, he doesn't want to change. Especially in front of Corrine, I wonder why. My eyes widen in shock and I cover my mouth. 'Has he imprinted on her.' I think.

He looks at me and tilts his head to the side like a wolf when they don't understand something. "What's wrong?" he asks.

Corrine grabs my hand and asks me what's wrong.

When I was going to respond I am tackled to the ground, by a wolf. I let go of Corrine's hand so I don't take her down with me. I hit my head on a hard rock and am getting mauled by a wolf. I grab one of my throwing knives that I dropped, and stab it into the wolf's rib, it whimpers and stumbles off of me, I quickly get up and look around until I see Corrine.

I quickly run over to Corrine and hug her. "You will all regret this." I say in a demonic voice.I quickly grab out my stele and draw on my hand a portal rune. I pick up Corrine and run over to the portal and shine my sunlight rune and no one will remember what I look like, sound like, or smell like.

I enter the portal with Corrine asleep in my arms, and we enter threw the into a cave, my cave. I set Corrine down on my bed, I sit beside her and put my middle finger on her forehead, her eyes open and glow white, once I take my finger off of her forehead the glowing stops. (If anybody is wondering April just changed Corrine's memories, her parents abandoned her at birth and the only mother she has ever know is April.)

Corrine wakes up and looks around and rubbing her eyes, when she sees me her eyes brighten up when she sees me. "Mommy!" she says then jumps and hugs me. She gets off of me and looks at me.

"Awe, hey baby, what's wrong?" I ask curious to know if the spell has worked.

Corrine frowns. "Mommy I, I'm scared, what if they find us, I don't want to loose you." she says, with tears in hers eyes.

I frown then say. "Oh baby, come here." I say then put her on my lap. "I won't let that happen, I promise." I say while looking at her, and smile at the end, as a tear falls from her eye. "Why don't we go to sleep and talk more about this in the morning." I say, she nods and we lay down on my bed,I hold her close, to make sure nothing happens to her.
