Awake, but unwilling to get up just yet, Silke scooted closer to Lauren, who was still asleep, or at least pretending to be, and spooned her. Yesterday had been great. They had skated a bit longer and eventually Lauren had forgiven Silke her little deception. The public kiss, well, that was another matter. But with a half dozen bystanders clapping, she’d been gracious about it at least. And on the way home they’d stopped at a cozy restaurant, and once they got home things had gotten even better.
