Chapter 2
Anya's Visit with Luna
"Yes, it was quite a surprise," Luna said with a laugh. "Can I come in?" she asked, even though she could go in anywhere she wanted."Sure, please come in," I heard my mom say as she closed the door.
I looked over the top of the stairs to see Luna Irina Sokolova and figure out why she was there. She asked my mom how she had been doing lately as she walked all the way in."Thank you for asking," my mother said. "I've been fine." "Do you want something to drink?"Oh no, that's fine. I was just passing by and thought I would stop.
They kept talking in hushed tones while they stood in the hallway."Okay then," she hummed as she looked around the house. This visit didn't seem like a normal one. The Luna of the Voronov Ridge Pack didn't come by unannounced very often.
I didn't believe her excuse, but I didn't say anything. How are the kids doing? Luna Irina asked out of the blue, and then her piercing blue eyes fell on me.
I quickly pulled my head back because I didn't like how she was looking at me.Everything is fine with them. "How is Viktor?" my mother asked, not knowing about the short conversation. He's fine. About him... Luna Irina said, "I think we just had the same thought.""Oh, I think I did too," my mother said.I was going to the pack house. She might be able to come with me. Luna Irina said, "I could use an escort."
That's when I figured out they were talking about me.
My mom called me.
I slowly walked down the stairs, feeling like Luna Irina's gaze was weighing me down. I was still wearing the ripped clothes from before."Hello, Luna Irina," I said, bowing my head.Hi there, dear. "What happened this time?" she asked, her calm face turning worried as she looked at my wounds.I quickly said, "I fell into a ditch earlier."
She looked at me for a moment. "Next time, be more careful."
She spoke in a calm voice, but her eyes said more than her words.
My mom then said something. She was disappointed when she asked, "You haven't changed yet?" "Get ready quickly. Alpha Viktor Sokolov wants to see you." "You're going with the Luna."
I didn't know why they were calling me, but I didn't ask."Okay," I said in a low voice and went upstairs to get ready.
They were done talking when I got back."Then I'll see you around," my mother said."Of course," Luna Irina said with a smile."Are you ready?" she asked me.
I nodded and went with her."Come back for dinner," my mom said as I walked by.
I nodded again and walked next to Luna, a little bit behind her."Don't walk so far back," she said.
I got a little closer but still kept my distance."How have you been?" she asked."Yes, ma'am," I said.Okay.
There was silence before she spoke again."Have there been any changes lately?""Changes?" I asked, not sure what to think."It's been almost three years and you still haven't moved," she said, her voice a little sharp. "Any progress?"
I looked down. "No, ma'am." "Nothing has changed."Don't worry. She said, "You're just a late bloomer."
We walked quietly until we could see the pack house. She said, "He's in his office." "Go inside. He doesn't like to wait.
Then she went.
I frowned on the inside. That was odd.
The Luna had never talked to me like that before.
I walked into the Voronov Ridge Pack house. It was quieter than normal.
As I walked straight to Alpha Viktor Sokolov's office, people hardly noticed me.
I stood in front of the door, took a deep breath, and knocked.
There was a voice that answered.
I opened the door
and stopped.
Alina Morozova and Alpha Viktor Sokolov were inside.
They were having a private moment.
I quickly stepped back and closed the door, my heart racing.
He's going to kill me.
The door opened again after a while.I'm very sorry, sir. I thought I heard you say "come in," so I rushed out with my head down.
Alina stood close to him and looked at me with clear hatred.
She came from a strong warrior family and was well-known in the pack. Someone like me shouldn't even be in her space.I'll see you tonight? "She asked softly."Of course," Alpha Viktor said, pulling her in and then letting her go.
She stared at me.
Then she moved forward.
She slapped me hard on both sides of my face without warning.
Pain shot through my already hurt body.
I didn't do anything. I couldn't."Stupid b***h," she said under her breath before leaving.
I was called inside after she left."Next time, wait until I tell you to come in," Alpha Viktor said as he fixed his shirt. "Do you get it?"I said, "Yes, sir."
He made a frown. "Are you hard of hearing?"N-no... "I get it, sir," I stammered.
He let out a sigh of annoyance.Tonight, there will be a party in the pack house. Before 8 p.m., everything has to be clean. You've got five hours. "Begin with this office."
After that, he left.
I stood there quietly, knowing this would happen.
The office wasn't too dirty; it was just a little messy from before. I cleaned it carefully, even though my body hurt.
I picked up some papers, pens, and a broken laptop. I put things back where they belonged.
A file caught my eye.
"Gavrilov Halev Pack"
One of the best packs.
I put it in a drawer and saw something else.
A little black box with gold edges.
There was a revolver inside.
I stopped moving.
Why would a werewolf want this?
Before I could think any more What are you up to?
