Madilyn's POV
I woke up with a smile for the first time, ever. I was so happy. I knew that darkness was coming and that the daylight would soon come to an end, but I was determined to embrace the good while I could. I rolled over to an empty bed. I wondered where Damon was, but I was too exhausted to get up and look around for him. I drifted off back to sleep.
"Madilyn...."
