The Royal Demon

 The brief teleportation brought Juno back to the earth’s terrain. The demon didn’t talk of this method with him back then, considering all of the inner-self discussion that occurred. Bedroom’s clock are ticking towards two of the afternoon, one and a half hour from his entire travel. The door is still locked, fastened and secure for his insurance of confidentiality. Sound of Betty’s vacuum cleaner is blaring over the bedroom’s corridor, but getting over his room just as requested way before.

“This is absurd.” Said Juno as he waltz inside the black sphere once more.

As soon as he hits the red sandy floor of hell, Juno could feel one surge of magical energy seeping into his body with brute force. A moment later, a protection bubble immediately arise and coating his entire physique with impenetrable defense. The demon, to the flick of event that happened, shrugged a little to the dumbfounded Juno,”See? The power is there and quickly show itself to you.”

“So this is how random the power should be? Alright, it’s totally fun things to make.” Said Juno in amusement while patting his palms to the bubble’s transparent surface. For the excitement of his tutelage, The demon laid down its smirks,”Okay then, my task here is finished. Time to brush my teeth.” Stated the demon before flashing out from his sight. Juno himself was busy with the newfound ability, so he didn’t cognizant of the demon’s rapid disappearance.

Before traversing down the mound of hell’s sand, Juno thought something up is in need to test out. This power is practically novel to his eyes, so he needs to try using it in real combat. Acknowledging a trivial issue that could affect his entire travel, Juno then nodded to himself in agreement,”Ah, that’s why master demon summoned me to this particular location.”

For the imminent test of faith over the protection’s durability, he has to fight the herd of kudeluma down below. He throws flurry of attacks through the bubble in insurance of its properties and compatibility with his melee power. As he predicted, both of his swords are just slashing through the wall as if there’s an empty air that separates him with outside harm. After the speck of his self-made tutorial, he then quickly jump to the gun towards the army of Kudelumas and taunting them by boasting his swords to the whole group.

“Rargh!”

Roar of the beasts were emanated against the man of honor. The deformed facial features of the pseudo-bear are shown up in rage towards his proposal of death. Juno is trembling by the breeze of twenty carnivores whose claws are accelerating to his way for laying their fury upon him, but also bedazzled by such heroic moment of himself. Ever since the outbreak of kudelumas beckoned, most of the neighboring city’s residents have to postpone their venture to Mooma city, therefore influenced his action to be something fruitful to the demon’s ground.

In a split second, barrage of knuckles were laying its might against his near-invisible coat of defense. Some of them even laid their own heads to the coat and forcing their speed against it. For the addition to the formidable defense, Juno rested several of his slashes to the enemies’ guts and killing them one by one underneath the unbreakable glass. Ten minutes on the direct brawl has proven of how much the magical defensive coat is in triumph against the impulse from the opponents outside. Neither of melee attacks from the beast nor its ranged ones are suffice against the layer of thick white magic. Its potential even expanded by how easily Juno is to unveil his own prowess towards the failure of his enemies’ proposal.

For the essence of his prowess, Juno is advancing to the other region of the city. Based upon the daily information that he retrieved from local newspaper, Kudeluma’s common attacks are consistently occurred close to the northwestern gate of the city. Long-lorn travelers with their frail body are chunks of deer meat to the strength of Kudeluma, but still worthy to wolfing down. Due to the constant harrassment, the popularity of northwestern area of the city are dwindling despite of its fame of being the entertainment region.

To arrange an ‘accidental’ meetup upon their appearance, Juno has booked a mission from the local chieftain to escort a royal demon out of the city’s border. From the paper, it states that the royal demon wants to obtain a flesh sample from the beast itself by hands for his experiment. Juno had wondering of the motives or the research that the demon tried to make, but he can’t conceive of what could be the better one of all.

For the gathering location, Juno had waited for some time near the northwestern city gate. He only arrived 15 minutes later to the combat with herds of kudelumas from the western areas. Brusquely to his arrival, the royal demon is appeared before the city gate in his casual attire of a scientist in the hell’s city. In common sense of a human, white long-sleeves coat is the utmost clothes to wear for the visual side of their occupation, but for the demon the color is nuanced in red.

“Good day, mortal. My name is Ruso. I have been informed about you and the title of ‘hero’ that you have. Let us do our job in peace and prosper to our own kind.” The demon scientist greeted him while shaking Juno’s hand with firm capacity,”Where do we start for our mission?”

“We have to locate them out, Ruso, since I’ve only can cranked up the news regarding the incident only for the time being.” Replied Juno to the demon scientist’s question. To the answer he provided, the demon scientist nodded while opening his bag. The demon scientist then showing up one peculiar item to Juno. It is a tiny snare with its launcher to the human mind, but might be different with what he thought about to the scientist itself.

“Let me explain this stuff to you. I want to introduce you with my elite beast catcher right here.” The royal scientist muttered before giving the goods to Juno for inspection,”It’s not gonna extended in dimension at all. This snare meant for docking their jaws to its bay for us to dissect the flesh from its body.”

As far as Juno can overview, the so-called ‘elite beast-catcher’ has features similar to a regular gun from earth. In distinction with the human ones, It has much lighter weight and a red button as a trigger,”For the red knob there, I designed it to be faster to reach. From my deduction upon your looks, this one is the unique aspects of my baby, right?” Asked the scientist after seeing Juno’s eyebrows movement.

“Because of its harmless usage to human, you tend to put this as convenient as possible. Am I correct?”

“Definitely, one-zero to you, Mr. human.” Stated the demon scientist to Juno’s conclusion,”Let’s proceed to the investigation, shall we?”

The hunt only needs a few minutes for them to encounter the beast. There are two of them that prowling in adjacent to the open field hundred meters from the northwestern gate. They are wolfing down meats from which the two huntsman could not perceive.

“Ah, this is the lunch period for them, so perfect for our first capture.” Murmured the scientist to Juno,”They are usually docile towards any threats in this very moment. Watch.”

As quick as they get in time, the scientist started their brawl with a good snipe to the beast’s mouth. The gun’s rapid mechanism allows the snare to snap shut their jaws and immobilized them with jolts of electricity that come along. He then done the similar to the adjacent beast, of which can’t decipher of its teammates issue in a brisk, and completely enclosed them to the hands of the two huntsman of Mooma city.

“I don’t need to be here, I guess.” Muttered Juno as he saw how agile the scientist has with his toy. The royal scientist, however, shook his head steadily to Juno’s statement,” No way, You’re here to be my pivot. Please,guard me after this, ya?”

While the scientist carrying on his own quest, Juno found something friendly to his eyes. Horn bracelets are scattered across the sandy surface of the open field, leading him to the ‘meat that the beast had devoured. Juno can not help but covering his mouth to the sight of a demon, the one which he had met back before as he approached the dismembered remains," Oh no, such a gruesome fate entails you, master guardsman." Mumbled Juno to it in immediate sorrow. 

Conversely, he can not locate the other person that supposed to be protected at all cost. The royal demon from Beneno is nowhere to be found. Juno then called the scientist with bracelets in his hand,”Hey, Ruso. Can you inspect this for me? I want to know-“

The scientist’s expression are streaming down the line of happiness and turned into sorrow in a flick after seeing the bracelets from his hand,”Where did you find this? This is my wife’s belongings.” The demon scientist spoke with a hint of stuttering amidst the sentence,”Does it mean that- that- she got killed by these beasts?”

“Not yet, but it could be if we can’t locate her. So please, do something with the only trace we have.” Stated Juno to raise the demon scientist’s dwindling spirit,”Let’s find her for now and leave these two around.”
