The loft in the castle was big. I could easily see the scenery around the castle through the large windows. The castle itself was surrounded by a sea of white roses and a field of lush green grass beyond that. I couldn't even tell where I was.
There was no cell phone reception in the castle nor any WiFi signal. Damn it! Do they not need access to the internet?
A moan almost escaped my lips as I was overwhelmed by the rush of euphoria of lying on the large, soft bed.
Ahhh… This feels so great!
I was finally able to calm my jumbled thoughts thanks to the alone time in the large room. But questions began surfacing in my mind.
Where's Stella?
Are they serious about continuing the bloodline of the Stuart family?
What about Owen's ability to heal? Was it real? Or was it just a trick?
Are they actually going to kill me if I refuse to bear their child?
Damn it! Just what sort of mess have I gotten myself into?
But one thing's for sure. I'm soooo getting fired!
Ahhhhhh!
I buried my face into the soft velvet sheets and rolled on the bed. Oh no… What should I do? What should I do?
And after half an hour, I finally made up my mind.
I have to leave this place, no matter what it takes!
And I have to get the hell out of here tonight!
So what if I get to live like an aristocrat? I don't want that!
Many influential figures in the industry had tried hitting on me, but I shot all of them down! So what makes these three so special? Do they really think that they can have their way with me just because they're good looking?
What I want are love and freedom!
Hmm… What's that saying again?
Let's see… Life is to be treasured, and love is precious. But if they come at the cost of freedom, then it's a price too heavy to pay!
The thought pumped my heart full of motivation. I quickly gathered myself and jumped down from the bed and began looking around the loft.
There was an exquisitely crafted dressing table decorated by delicate swirling patterns, an ornate desk lamp, and a gigantic wardrobe made out of rosewood that took up an entire side of the wall.
A wide array of splendors greeted me when I opened the door of the wardrobe. So this is what happiness looks like.
The wardrobe was filled with clothings of different styles. There was also a large selection of hats, brooches, shoes, and handbags. This was a literal treasure trove for women all around the world!
My God! They're all my size!
After going through the entire selection available in the wardrobe, I finally made my choice: a form fitting black colored leotard that allows ease of movement and a pair of handcrafted leather boots.
I did a split in front of the mirror and was glad to find that the leotard did not get in the way of my movements. I've always been an athletic person. Whenever there was something that a female actress could not achieve on set, I would always be the one to be used as a stunt double. This outfit will help greatly in my plans of sneaking out of here tonight.
I set my "equipment" aside and put on a light blue evening gown that had also caught my eyes. It was time for me to begin the first step of my "Great Escape Plan," which was to scout out the building.
The loft was on the fourth floor of the castle. I descended from the loft and found myself in a huge space that was divided into three stories within the building itself.
A large ornate chandelier hung at the center of the ceiling, while gracefully built wooden spiral stairs connected this space to the loft and the first floor.
I could see servants walking around the building from the top of the stairs. They did not even make a sound as they came and went.
After carefully surveying my surroundings, I was satisfied to find that my presence had not been noticed.
Great!
I mustered my courage and began exploring the third floor. I was able to pretend that I belong due to my great acting skills. There were only three rooms on the third floor that was built into a homocentric square: Rooms 301, 302, and 303.
I stuck my ear against the door of Room 301, attempting to identify signs of activities within the room.
Clack!
The door of Room 301 swung open without warning, and I found myself stumbling into the embrace of a man.
"McKenzie?"
I looked up, right into his cold features with danger lurking below the surface.
"Uhmm… You see… I'm just passing by, I…" I found myself stuttering under his gaze.
I felt a tight grip on my waist before I could even finish my sentence. Before I could even realize what was going on, I was already being dragged into his room.
Bang!
The door was slammed shut behind me.
McKenzie pushed me against a wall. Our bodies were pressed together, and no matter how hard I tried, I could not escape from his grip.
What I did not expect was that his strong scent and chiseled figure was sending waves of pleasure down my body. But this did not stop me from resisting.
I aimed and jabbed my elbow at his ribs.
But the blow was stopped by his firm grip.
Such reaction speed!
He then grabbed hold of both my hands, pinning them onto the wall above my head.
My movements were restricted, my breathing was ragged, and fear was gripping my heart when I stared into his dark eyes, "Let me go! Let go of me!"
A smirk appeared on McKenzie's lips, "Did Owen forget to tell you about the rules? Our rooms are off limits. You're not protected in our rooms."
I didn't even have the time to curse at Owen for failing to explain the rules to me.
"No, wait, let go of me!" I panicked when I felt McKenzie's hot breath on my face, "Let go of me, or I'll scre- Mmmmph!"
A pair of icy cold lips enveloped mine, and my body twitched involuntarily in response. My mind immediately went blank.
