Chapter 6: Angel Of Death

Jayden called Azrael while I was nervously looking at the window, thinking about what was happening.

A crime scene in our station? To be exact, a m*********r crime scene. How the heck did it happen?

"Azrael knows it already. Typical Angel of Death. The others are coming too", Jayden said as I nodded.

I immediately got off when we reached the station which is surrounded by people and media. I showed my badge to everyone to get in better.

People left and the others pictured us as we entered. A reporter approached me to interview me but I said nothing. I don't want to talk to anyone. And I don't even want to see myself on the television, not in my entire life.

I lifted the police tape and entered the crime scene. And there, I saw the station full of marks of the bodies and blood. There are more claw marks on the door and it does looks like they are trapped in here and want to get out but they can't.

I saw detectives that maybe from the other station nearby and were investigating. Jayden was the one they talked to since they didn’t seem to know me. I barely go outside of the station. I'm always here, sitting and doing my papers.

I went into my office to know if anything changes but there was nothing. There was no sign that anything strange had happened outside of it at all. What it looked like before I left was all still the same.

"Are you Ainsley Trivett?", I turned to the one who called my name.

I nodded at the detective. "So you own this office?", he asked and I nodded again.

"Yes, officer. I do all the paperworks here", I replied.

He nodded and wrote something. "I assume you just came in and you don't know anything about this. I saw you with Jayden earlier when you came in. Do you have any idea who can do this? It looks like your office hasn't been moved, maybe you know about it? ", he asked again.

I shook. "No officer. I don't have any friends except for my neighbors amd Jayden."

He nodded again and left the office. I immediately sat down on the couch. I think the real question here is not who did this, it is 'what' is the thing that did this. Ordinary people cannot kill so brutally. I still saw marks on the ceiling and it was too high. No human can reach that and kill someone over that high.

"Deep thoughts?"

I stood up when I heard a voice in my right ear.

"Azrael, what is it?", I growled at the man. "You scared the hell out of me."

"Wow, surprised?", he said laughing and sat down next to me. "This is too much cleanliness on your office, it's not even stained with blood. Are you sure you don't know who did it?", he asked while laughing again.

He's asking me that even if he already knows the answer. He can read my thoughts, I am sure I don't have any secrets on him. I am like a naked woman in front of him!

"Woah, not naked, lady", he said but then smirked. "But I saw you on one of your memories."

I blushed but I compose myself and punch his right arm. "Don't invade my privacy!"

"I don't mean it", he laughs again while patting the part where I punch him.

How am I supposed to believe in that? God! I hate this man!

"You don't have any choice. You know I am the only one you can trust", he said seriously. I rolled my eyes. As if I had any other choices. It is good to be just in between heaven and hell so I can't start a war any time soon.

"The detectives and media had left already", Jayden said as he entered my office. Azrael immediately stood up and compose his posture.

"So are we leaving?", I asked with a frown.

"Leaving? No, we're not leaving. We will stay here and find out who or what did it", Jayden explained to me and I just nodded. They are experts in this field and I should just follow their lead so I can be safe. That's what I learned on some dramas that I watched. Following experts means being safe.

Bliant and Elinora entered the room. I assume that Madison and Mason are already searching for clues or something that can help us since they are not here.

Elinora wave at me and I did the same to her. Bliant approached me and sit beside me. He's a healer so he is a back up and him being safe means everyone will be safe.

"What about me? What should I do?", I asked them.

"You are going to watch Bliant", Azrael said sparingly before they left.

"What?" I did nothing as they closed the door. Seriously? They will make me a babysitter? I look at Bliant. Well, he isn't a baby anymore. Can I leave him now?

Bliant sat quietly next to me and so, I did the same. But I really can't.

I stood up and opened the office door.

"What are you going to do?", Bliant asked.

"I will follow them?", I answered sarcastically and tried to turn the door knob.

"Why it won't open?!", I shouted. I slammed the door but only hurt my hands.

"Huh?", Bliant asked in surprise and approached me. "Here, inside, is the only way it can be opened."

I nodded. That's true but why I can't?

"Sh!t!", he cursed and picked up his cellphone.

"What are you doing?", I asked him. "Why do you seem nervous?"

"There's no signal", he said and slammed the door and shouted for help.

"Hey what's up?"

He looked straight at me. "Can't you see? We are locked here because there is a demon in here. This is what he did to the polices outside before he killed them", he explained and clarified it to me.

Oh hell.

I helped him shout for help but no one seemed to hear us. My office is not even soundproofed.

A devilish laugh filled the whole office. I look at the reflection coming from the door and I saw my boss with dark red eyes, devilishly smiling in front of me.

Double hell.

I shouted on top of my lungs for help. "Azrael! Jayden! Someone! Help!"

As I slammed the door, one last time, the demon grabbed our hair and pull us into him.

I hold his hands to stop him but I just can't. He is too damn strong!

I looked at Bliant who's also struggling and it seems he is frightened of what's happening.

As I was about to lose my hope, Azrael entered the room, destroying the door on my office. He look at me, no, not me, on the demon directly and it hold my hand tighter than before.

I looked at Azrael shocked. "What the hell are you doing?! The hell! It freakin' hurts! Damn it!"

I felt like my hair is being pulled out of my head and I shouted and cried in pain until...the grip was gone.

I sighed and massage my head and looked at Azrael who is now walking onto my boss.

Elinora approach me so I asked her what was Azrael is doing.

"He angered the demon and talks to it while looking at it eye to eye. And because of its burst, it is now weak so Azrael takes this chance to kill the demon inside him", Elinora explained to me.

"Kill? Inside my boss? How?", I asked curiously.

Elinora didn't answered me and only watched Azrael and so I looked at them.

I was stunned by what happened. Azrael put his hand inside my boss and squeeze it. He shouted in pain.

Azrael will kill a human? Is that even legal for an angel?

What happened next was more shocking. Azrael pulled his hands and just like that my boss falls asleep and Azrael is now holding the heart of the demon who is now fighting for his life.

Madison and Jayden took my boss and put him into the couch while Azrael is still squeezing the demon's heart until it just became an ash and fade away.

"W-what just happened?", I asked them all.

Azrael look at me and smiles. "That's the Angel of Death's ability."
