Third Person's POV
"D-death? What do you mean by death? She died? Or she really saw death?", Ainsley continuously asked.
He laughed, "You are such an impatient listener."
"S-sorry", she apologized then bow her head.
"No, it's okay", Azrael said then continue the story. "She really saw death, multiple deaths of other people, how someone died, the grim ripper and lastly, how she would die."
Ainsley was overwhelmed by fear when she heard that. Everything has to do with death and worse, she can see herself in that way also..
"Did she stop them?", she asked Azrael but the guy just shake his head.
"The ability was just given to notify people of what will happen to them, to give them time to say goodbye to their loved ones but that will never change what is destined to happen."
Azrael looked at her with mixed concern. She did not like this thing and he knew it. But even though he was helpless, he knew Ainsley and she's not the one who would just decide things carelessly. He knew it was hard to force this woman and even if he didn't want to, he needed it too.
"Why are you looking at me like that?", Ainsley asked the man. Azrael ignored him and just averted his eyes.
Azrael stared at the rolling shadow all over the office. He had been feeling this before but he just didn't want to tell Ainsley because she would definitely be worried and scared but this one seems to be becoming more aggressive.
"Hey!", Azrael shouted but he could only hear faint whispers of laughter. "Nothing funny, okay? It's more funny when I punch you."
"Who are you talking to?", Ainsley asked Azrael.
"An evil spirit in the body of a high school student."
Ainsley looked at him confused but when she remembered what she had seen earlier, she immediately hid under the table which caused Azrael to laugh.
"He will still see you there and I know you will probably see him too."
Ainsley shook his head and continued to hide under the table but she was surprised when the table floated slowly. She looked at Azrael as if asking if he was the one who did it but the man just shook his head.
Darius immediately appeared and removed the table over Ainsley. He threw it somewhere and immediately pulled the woman upright.
Azrael looked at Darius angrily. "Let her go", he ordered but the man just laughed as if he were a demon, well, he really is a demon.
Ainsley begged Azrael to rescue him just by looking at his eyes. Sh was very scared especially when she saw what i
Darius did to the siblings. He both choked and killed them.
She was afraid he might do the same to her.
Azrael approached them and pulled Ainsley closer to him but Darius forced a tight grip on her clothes.
Jayden came immediately and saw a shocking scene. He just finished talking to the chief and ask him if the evidence of the last murder case has been disposed of.
Ainsley's eyes widened as she realized that Jayden was in the room. "J-jayden", he whispered softly. She did not want him to be affected by what was happening. Jayden was a good friend and Ainsley did not want to ruin him and their friendship because of her.
Jayden looked at Darius and Azrael in shock but that shock disappeared immediately when he remembered something. "Azrael, is she the one you said new?", he asked the fallen angel.
Ainsley looked at them in astonishment. "You two know each other?"
The two did not answer her. Azrael quickly pulled Ainsley away from Darius' grip which caused the woman's clothes to tear.
Jayden approached Darius and put his right hand on the man's chest. Darius cried out in pain and immediately lay down. Jayden just returned the soul to hell and Darius' body is now free and needs to rest.
He was sure Darius would be scared and shocked when he found out what had happened. Darius was just a victim of exorcism and an evil spirit is the one who entered his body.
"W-what happened?", Ainsley asked them nervously and confused. She no longer knows what and how these things happen to her. She was just a normal woman whose job is doing the paperworks of the detectives eventhough she graduated at a top school and being in the top list before even working but she did not have the courage to ask her chief why she was forced to do a lowly job in the station.
Darius just sighed. Even he at first could not believe it. Darius was one of Azrael's followers and like Ainsley, he took him because he also possessed an ability. He could hear any events no matter how far it is.
"Darius is part of my team...", Azrael answered Ainsley.
"You mean the team you say you want me to be with?", she asked again and Azrael nodded.
"You're just like me, Ainsley", Jayden told her. She still couldn't process in her brain that her friend kept this secret. But even she, also kept a secret from him.
They are friends since the first day Ainsley work here in the station. They both eat, laugh, and joke together. When Jayden was promoted, Ainsley celebrate it for him, throwing a party to make her friend smile.
Even though she was still have a low position, Jayden never mind joining her and talking to her. So secrets were not really for them, she kept what happened to her, but she didn't know he also kept what is his true identity. Sometimes, even friends couldn't tell each other their deepest secrets.
"So how? How did you meet? How did you do that? And are there many more people like us?", she asked again and again.
"Are you really good at asking?", Azrael said laughing.
Jayden laid Darius on the bed to rest before answering Ainsley's question.
"Yes, we are many. Too many but some sided with the angels, some with the demons and others, like me, choose Azrael, a fallen angel to follow."
What is wrong with this Azrael? Ainsley did not know if he was good or bad. According to rumors, it he is a bad creature and no one is sanctified. But over the time she was with him, she could say he was kind and those negative rumors about him weren't exactly true.
"You know, it's bad to stare at people like me", Azrael teased her which embarrassed her.
Ainsley then again apologize. She didn't know she was now staring at him unintentionally.
"Do you want to meet the rest of us?", Jayden suddenly asked Ainsley that made her shock.
"Our meeting place is just near here so maybe you want to meet them?", he added.
Ainsley did not know if her answer would be a yes or a no. She hesitates because of the fear or what might happen. "Don't worry, they don't eat people",
Azrael joked but Ainsley felt more scared. She does not know if she will believe what Azrael says because what they encounter are evil spirits, angels and demons. Does that things are even real? Yes. she believe in God but it doesn't mean she believe on everything like evil spirits roaming around but based on what she already encountered and experienced, they are real. They are all so real and she is now talking to the Angel Of Death himself.
"A-all right", Ainsley replied because she didn't know if she could say no this time. She felt she have no ally here and was alone.
Nervously, she followed Azrael and Jayden to what they said was their meeting place. They left Darius in the office who is still resting.
Arriving at the place they were talking about, she was exposed to a fancy house but the people in it were even more surprising.
