Chapter 9

857 Words
Eve wasn’t thinking straight. Her grief took over and made her hallucinate. To Eve, Kai looked like Lexie. She just wanted to kiss Lexie once yet she never got to. The alcohol didn’t help Eve with her hallucinations. Taken by surprise by Eve’s actions, Kai returns the kiss. He was confused and he knew he should have stopped it but yet he didn’t. Kai shared how Eve felt. They both lost a loved friend and were dealing with it differently. He was drunk during the beginning but he sobered up. Eve had her own way of dealing with the loss, though it meant she was harming herself. Eve didn’t know Kai fell for Lexie too. He kept this a secret and planned to from the very beginning. Kai noticed Eve loved Lexie, even before she noticed it herself. He didn’t want to be the reason for their happy ending to have not happened. During the kiss, Kai picked Eve up, placing her on the bed on her back. As he hovers over her, Kai starts to run his hand down Eve’s chest, side then her stomach. He just wanted to feel her curves, imagining it was Lexie he was doing this with. Both of them were imagining Lexie instead of who was actually there. As if getting the hint, Eve started to take her shirt off, unclasping her own bra. Kai did the same with his own shirt, throwing it to the side. In the heat of the moment, Kai claimed her lips, this time in a very heated, lust filled kiss. The grinding of each other's lower halves were making their own actions more frantic, wanting to have each other already. In her own delirious mind, Eve was hoping Lexie would magically come into the room and take over. Her hopes were squashed though when Kai started to fiddle with the button of her jeans. Giving in, Eve started to move his hands away and unbuttons her own jeans, lifting her lower half as she takes them off, tossing it to the side. Their actions led them to have a very heated moment. The sounds of moans, gasps and the occasional grunt were coming from the hotel room. The alcohol bottles were totally forgotten about as their naked forms did actions that they were taught not to do by the church. Two grief stricken teens in a hotel room. No one planned for this to happen; Kai was just going there to see if Eve was truly okay. Ever since the death, Eve hasn’t talked to him or any of her family and that worried him. He only found out where she was when Mrs. Sanchez told him Eve wasn’t even home. It was then that it clicked. She went to the very room where everything started to go downhill. Eve wakes up the next morning, naked and next to Kai. Her face turns a soft pink in a blush of embarrassment of what happened. She didn’t know that would have happened to her. None of them did. It was then that Eve realized she was thinking of Lexie the whole time. She knew she shouldn’t have but yet she did. It was then that she remembered the real reason she came to the hotel room. Getting out of the bed, Eve went to her pants that were flung onto the floor from the previous night. Digging into her pocket, she got the item she brought with her and went into the bathroom. Locking the door, she turned the water on, drawing a bath in the bathroom. A metal clink sounds in the room as she puts the object down. It was small, she admits that, but she hopes it would help her see the one she loves again. She was too depressed to think right. Eve just wants to see Lexie again. They all did but the lengths Eve would go just to see her is a lot. She would do anything to see her, at least one more time. The hotel room was silent, not even the sound of water filling the tub can be heard anymore. It was at this moment that Kai woke up. He turns to face Eve but she isn't there. The spot she fell asleep in was empty. He sat up quickly, getting worried again. “Eve?” Kai called out, looking around. He looked at the bathroom door as it was shut. The previous night, the door was open. Getting out of bed, he knocked on the door. “Eve? Is everything okay?” He questioned, hoping for an answer. When Eve didn’t respond, he knocked once again, calling her name. No response. This time, instead of a knock, Kai starts to frantically bang on the door, yelling her name. “Eve! I know you’re in there. Open up!” No answer. Filled with worry and having the feeling something was wrong, he took a couple steps back, running into the door a few times and broke it open. As soon as he saw the sight in the bathroom, he turned and grabbed his phone, dialing emergency services.
