The dress she'd wanted to wear was- of course- ruined, so Candice had picked up the only other decent one she had. It was also a very old one, but it had been the best she could dig out in the last moment. Candice knew Mia would forgive her and she was hoping she didn't look so bad, or the others among the guests wouldn't be so dazzling.
