Candice turned to her side and her hand searched for Noah's.
But it only found the empty space to that part of the bed.
She got up immediately and looked around.
“Noah?”
She was sure he’d been here only moments ago.
It was still dark, so she searched for her phone or something that would suggest how long it would be before it was day again.
She finally found the phone and checked. Candice expected messages, or numerous missed calls, but there was only one short message from Mia and it said
