"Your parents are traveling until next week, right?" Mia asked and took another bite from her chocolate chip cookie.
"Yeah, I think so. It was a bit weird, though. "
"What was?"
"Them, just leaving. They rarely go on trips or anything. I mean, they do, but not like that."
Candice said, frowning at the almost empty chocolate box. She promised herself this would be her last one and she picked up the one with the caramel topping.
"Do you think something happened?"
Candice shrugged "Even if it did, they wouldn't tell me, anyway. "
"They might have just decided to take some time together. "
"They might. We'll soon know anyway. "
"Yeah. How is Tyler, by the way?"
"I don't know. He doesn't live here anymore. "
Candice said it way too bitterly and she cleared her throat "I mean, he
