Felix kept his distance and leaned against the window frame.
"I just wanted to ask how you are."
"Why is everyone asking me how I am?"
"Maybe because we're worried."
"We?" Eadan laughed bitterly, "What are you all so worried about?"
Felix's heart clenched. Eadan was getting angrier, and he was going to turn out to be right.
"I saw Llyr injured."
"And?"
"You know what that means."
"And you automatically decide it's my fault."
"I'm not saying…"
"No, of course you aren't."
"Eadan, I just…" His friend shifted in the armchair and crossed his arms.
Felix not only felt, but knew probably the conversation was already over before it had even started. It was partly because he'd started off on the wrong foot.
Felix tried again.
" Okay. I didn't meant to say anything."
