I thought the dogs would feast awhile, but they only took few bites. They killed the bear just to kill it. I was amazed at how well they actually worked as a team. I knew dogs formed packs, of course, but I figured these dogs had to be rabid to be so vicious, and wouldn’t rabies have affected their ability to cooperate? Caught up in my train of thought, I failed to notice the rottweiler had stepped away from the group and stared right at me. One deep, blood curdling bark from it was all it took for the other dogs to notice me as well. In an instant, they focused on me. My legs were still far too sore for another chase.
