Publisher and Managing EditorFew weeks ago, my wife and I came back to New York from a Caribbean vacation: I felt relaxed but, to be honest, I was also a bit exhausted from non-stop diving and other watersport activities that we had been doing.
As the new issue of the magazine was being finalized to go to the print shop, the day after arrival I started checking the new designs for our cover story and I immediately felt refreshed: our new cover, which I picked from few great options, really captures the soul of the story that Laird Barron recently wrote for us. It’s a must-read and after you finish it, you realize why everyone considers Laird a master.
Lawrence Block—the legend—also has a must-read story which you should not miss. Lawrence has been so good to us over the years… we love his work and his short stories also fit with the magazine’s style. Make sure you check it out.
There is certain feeling of intrigue involved in visiting abandoned places: Photographer Dimitri Bourriau gives us a glimpse of his multi-year project “Places in Decline” in our photography section. Polish photographer Szymon Jędrzejewsk also has an interesting collection in Issue #19.
I’m sure you will enjoy this edition of Mystery Tribune: the stories are first-class, photography is stunning, and the essays and conversations are entertaining. If you crave for more, you can always check mysterytribune.com where we have the largest “free” archive of crime, mystery and thriller short stories out there. You can also give yourself or friends the gift of #goodmystery by purchasing our digital (and print) editions.
Once again, thanks for your support and I hope you enjoy Issue #19 to the fullest. /MT
