The Family Secret

Preface

       There are four main elements that mages practice: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. There were schools all around the world where those born mages could train and perfect their powers, but all this had to be done in secret so every school had ways to protect themselves. One was to have an Air Mage who would cloak the school, building the school  in the deepest depths of some of the  roughest terrain to get to, and others were actually floating in the sky way up in the clouds where only people with powers could find it. Some school’s are specialized for one specific element, while others are open to each of the four elements.

       There is however one very special school that teaches the forbidden arts. A school that is tucked away in the darkest depths of the core of Cerovia. The school of the fifth element: Soul. It is an element that combines the other four elements and can corrupt someone’s soul. Those who have power over the soul element also have power over all of the other four elements. This ability was vital to keeping the balance of the world because there were certain spells that required control over all five elements to cast them. The problem was very few people could truly control Soul leaving them a twisted warped shell of their previous selves. Anyone who tests positive for the Soul Element disappears.

       However like with all abilities there’s certain people who are skilled enough to be able to manage the power, certain people who are the exception to the rule, Those people are few and far between and they tend to want to stay hidden. Larissa Winters was one of the few gifted people, but she wasn’t able to keep her talents hidden. This is her story.
