I hear Nathaniel in the other room working in the kitchen. I am not sure what he is doing, but I have a suspicion that he is getting dinner ready for Amber and me. Meanwhile, I am here in my shared bedroom sulking and feeling miserable. I want to go out there and help him prepare dinner. I want to be there by his side, but I have never felt like such a stranger to him. Ever since Amber showed up, I feel like I have lost the most important part of myself, and I hate it.
The only way to get that piece back is to spend time with Nathaniel, but every time I do, Amber magically shows up and butts in on our conversation.
So, instead, I sit there on the bed typing away emails and researching Amber, seeing that it is the only thing giving me some form of satisfaction at the moment. S
