Chapter 10Why he was surprised the reunion started in the airport, he had no idea. “Oh, my God. Jett Walker.” He turned at the sound of the booming bass to confront a giant of a man, six-foot-four, a solid two-thirty, with the broadest grin he’d seen since his oldest daughter’s cheerleading days. It took a moment to see past the closely shorn gray hair and trim beard, but once he did, there was no mistaking one of the few guys from the team he’d actually been looking forward to seeing. “Rocky Lieberman.” He met Rocky halfway to accept his firm handshake. “How is it in an airport with thousands of people, you’re still the loudest one in the room?” Rocky laughed, the same rolling thunder that had made him everybody’s buddy in high school.
