Episode 4 — The Girl Who Looked Like Me The afternoon sun was beginning to disappear behind the trees when Eliana left The Red Lantern. Madam Vera had sent her to the village market to buy some supplies. Eliana hated every trip outside the bar because she knew she would eventually have to return to that place. She walked along the crowded road, carrying the small basket in her hand. Then she saw her. A girl was standing beside a black luxury car. She was dressed beautifully, completely different from everyone around her. Her long hair fell over her shoulders, and she was staring at her phone while waiting for someone. Eliana slowed down. Something about the girl felt strangely familiar. The girl suddenly looked up. Their eyes met. Both girls froze. Eliana’s heart began to beat faster. The girl stared at her face. Then she whispered, “Who are you?” Eliana frowned. “I should be asking you that.” The girl slowly walked toward her. “You look exactly like me.” Eliana gave a nervous laugh. “Exactly?” The girl stopped in front of her. “Not similar. Exactly.” For a few seconds, neither of them spoke. They studied each other’s faces as if they were looking into a mirror. “I’m Elie,” the girl finally said. “Eliana.” Elie repeated the name quietly. “Eliana…” She looked confused. “Where are you from?” Eliana pointed toward the village. “Here.” Elie looked shocked. “Here?” “Yes.” Elie glanced around before looking back at her. “I’ve never seen you before.” “Me neither.” A strange silence settled between them. Then Elie asked, “Who are your parents?” Eliana’s expression immediately changed. “I don’t have parents.” Elie noticed the sadness in her eyes. “I’m sorry.” “They died when I was little.” Elie lowered her gaze. “My parents are Claire and Richard.” Eliana nodded. “And you?” “Asha and Noah.” Elie smiled faintly. “They’re very successful. My father owns one of the biggest companies in the city.” Eliana looked at her expensive clothes and car. “That explains everything.” Elie laughed. For the first time, the tension between them disappeared. But neither girl understood why fate had brought them together. They sat beneath a large tree and talked for hours. Elie told Eliana about her life in the city. Eliana told Elie about Madam Vera and the difficult life she had lived since losing her parents. The more they talked, the more they realized how different their lives were. One had money, family, and everything she could want. The other had almost nothing. Yet their faces were almost identical. Before Elie left, she looked at Eliana one last time. “I have a strange feeling we’re going to see each other again.” Eliana smiled. “Maybe.” Elie opened the car door. But before getting inside, she turned back. “Eliana?” “Yes?” “Promise me something.” “What?” “If we meet again, don’t pretend you don’t know me.” Eliana smiled. “I promise.” Neither of them knew it yet… But that meeting would change both of their lives forever
