Chapter 5 2031 The Crownvirus had spread across the world. Within months, everything started changing. Schools were closed. Streets became quieter. People stayed inside their homes, staring at their phones and waiting for someone to tell them when everything would finally go back to normal. Some people said it came from China. Some believed it was planned by powerful people. Others had their own theories. Everyone seemed to have an answer. What can I say? I was just a kid behind a screen. I didn't understand politics. I didn't understand viruses. I didn't understand why the world suddenly felt so different. I was just trying to get through the day. --- 2032 Rhone lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling. The room was quiet. Too quiet. The only sounds were the fan spinning above him and the occasional noise coming from somewhere outside. He rolled around on his bed. Then he buried his face in his pillow. "WAHHHHHH!" "f**k this life..." "What else am I supposed to do?" "It's forbidden to go outside." "I can't even hang out with my friends." He grabbed his phone and started scrolling through it. Nothing. He checked his games. Nothing. Social media? Same s**t. He tossed the phone beside him and stared at the ceiling again. "Damn..." "How long is this s**t gonna last?" Ding. A notification suddenly popped up on his phone. "The f**k was that?" He picked it up. It was his cousin, Grey. Grey: Yo, Rhone. Have you seen that viral video of the cat getting XXXXXXXXXXX? Rhone: Bro... you're still into that s**t? Goddamn, Grey. Grey: HEHEHE. Yeah. I was wondering if you have it. Rhone: Alright. I'll look for it. If I find it, I'll send it later. Grey: Alright, thanks, Rhone. Love you. Rhone: GAY. Rhone tossed his phone onto the bed. "f*****g Grey..." He laughed quietly. At least someone was still entertaining him. --- With nothing better to do... Rhone started wandering around the internet. He clicked one link after another. Most of it was junk. Random videos. Random forums. Random websites. Nothing really caught his attention. He kept scrolling. One page. Then another. Then another. Until... "Huh?" Rhone stopped scrolling. "What the f**k is Camel Gore?" He stared at the screen. The name itself sounded weird enough to make him curious. He read the page. «Want to join Camel Gore? DM Keizer.» Rhone raised an eyebrow. "...Hell yeah." He sent a message. Rhone: Can I join? A reply came almost immediately. Keizer: What can you even do for us besides being a d**k? Rhone: ...I can share videos? Keizer: What else? Are you a rat? You know who Clark the Frog is? How old are you? Rhone: Bro, I'm not a rat. And I don't know who the f**k that frog guy is. I'm not telling you my age either. Keizer: f**k YOU. Rhone: f**k you too... Rhone stared at the screen. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then... Keizer: Aight. You're in. I'll add you to the group chat. Don't f**k this up. Rhone: Okay, man. Thanks. The invitation appeared on his screen. Rhone stared at it for a moment. He wasn't even sure what he had just joined. He had only clicked the page because he was bored. "...What the f**k did I just get myself into?" He looked back at the website. "I was just looking for that cat video." He laughed to himself. "Eh..." "I've got nothing better to do anyway." He accepted the invitation. --- A few minutes later... He messaged Grey. Rhone: Yo. I couldn't find it yet. Maybe it's still too new. Let's just wait a few days until somebody posts it somewhere. Grey: Dang. Alright. Rhone: But something weird happened. I accidentally joined this random site called Camel Gore. Looks pretty messed up. Grey: LMAO. That's kinda cool. Rhone replied. I'll send you some of their videos for a while. Grey: Sounds cool. Rhone leaned back in his chair. The room went quiet again. He looked at the screen. Another notification appeared. Then another. The internet suddenly didn't feel as boring as it did a few minutes ago. He had no idea what he had just stepped into. To him, it was nothing more than another random website he found during quarantine. Another distraction. Another way to kill time. He had no idea... ...that one random click was about to change the way he saw the world. End.
