Layla's POV The Crimsonfang estate sat high above the river, its bright lights enough to make the water below glitter. Wolves crowded the terraces and the long lawn that rolled down toward the trees as music drifted from the pavilion. Servers moved through the crowd with trays and tight smiles as they obviously wanted to be there as much as I did on any other day. Luckily for me though, I wasn't here alone tonight. Not long after I returned I had been introduced to an up and coming med student who was talked about as if he was a god. HE didn't act like one though, and despite clearly being froma well off background, he wasn't bothered about comparing notes on what vacation home we frequented or which model of supercar daddy had bought him, all in all he was pretty well adjusted.
