  Layla's POV   I might be a little slow at the minute but I wasn't f*****g stupid and the fact that the doctor hesitated just a little bit didn't sit right with me.   "There are some anomalies in your bloodwork," he answered carefully, and his tone shifted into the tone that people, especially doctors, use when they're trying not to alarm someone. "There's no need for you to worry as it's nothing that's immediately dangerous. There's no sign of anything acute, but it's irregular enough that we need to monitor it."   My father goes very quiet as a cloud seems to settle over his expression. This doesn't seem like news to him and right now, he looks as though he's calculating something..   "What kind of anomalies?" I ask, pushing my hand into the mattress as if I can force myself upright
