  Jax's POV   "We're here," I said low.   The gates of Moonveil closed behind us with a low, heavy sound.   Liora didn't look at me.   Kael approached, posture straight, scar catching the torchlight. "The room is ready," he said. "Eastern wing. Guarded."   "Good."   His gaze lingered on Liora for half a second too long. I didn't like either. He left.   I guided her inside with a hand at her back. She stiffened under the contact, but she moved. The door closed behind us with a dull click that echoed far too loud.   The room was quiet.
