Liora's POV
Something was wrong.
I felt it the moment we returned to Moonveil Pack.
A prickling sensation at the back of my neck. Like eyes watching from the shadows.
I turned. Scanned the tree line.
Nothing.
Just trees. Darkness. The usual guards patrolling.
But the feeling remained.
"Liora?" Jax touched my arm. "What is it?"
"I don't know." I wrapped my arms around myself. "I feel like someone's watching me."
His expression hardened. Eyes flashing gold.
"Where?"
"Everywhere. Nowhere." I shook my head. "Maybe I'm just paranoid."
"Your instincts are usually right." He moved closer. Scanned the surroundings with predatory focus. "I'll have Kael post extra guards."
"That's not necessary."
"Yes, it is." His tone left no room for argument. "I'm no
