Harper stared at the little boy like he’d just asked her to solve a maths problem in front of the whole school. Her mouth opened, then closed again. Nothing came out. She could feel her face getting warm. And judging by the way Luca was very clearly trying not to laugh, he noticed. The boy just stood there, patient as anything, completely unaware he’d just made things ten times worse than any rumour or school gossip ever had. Harper shot Luca a look, silently begging him to step in. He just raised his eyebrows like, Your turn. Of course it was her turn.
