I found out Luca was hurt because Adrian was explaining a question I already understood. We were in the library preparing for the next academic event, surrounded by open notebooks, practice sheets and the remains of a lunch I'd forgotten to finish, when my phone started vibrating against the table. I ignored it the first time. The second vibration came less than a minute later, followed by another, and Adrian stopped talking long enough to glance at the screen.
