Melanie’s POV
I think I stopped breathing for a moment.
There was no way I just heard, Nik correctly, he had to be messing with me.
“You’re messing with me, right?” I said.
“I wish I was,” he replied and that was all I needed to hear before I began running towards the patient room.
I didn’t bother looking back to find out if Nik was following me. All I knew was, Adriano has been hurt and I wanted to see him.
I burst into the room and found, Adraino, lying on the bed and holding a shirt to his left arm. I stopped in my tracks, trying to catch my breath. He wasn’t unconscious, neither did he look disoriented.
He was even smiling at me!
“Hey, little nurse,” he said and I couldn’t hold it anymore, I burst into tears.
I was in his arms in the blink of an eye while Nik walked in.
