Melanie’s POV
By the time I got downstairs, Alice had already set out my food on the dining table.
“That took a while,” she said.
“I know, got a phone call from my parents,” I replied. “You didn’t have to set my food on the dining table, I could have eaten with you in the kitchen like we always do.”
“No, I thought it would be nice if we ate together in a different setting but I got tired of waiting for you so I ate first,” she explained.
“That’s okay, I understand, as long as you keep me company while I eat. I don’t think I’m ready to be alone,” I answered.
“That’s not a problem,” she replied.
I sat down and stared at the spread on the table.
“Wow, you really went all out for dinner tonight and it all looks delicious,” I complimented.
