Melanie’s POV
There was no way, Alice could be the one banging on my door, which left me thinking there was an intruder in the house.
But would an intruder knock and how on earth did they know that of all the rooms in this house, I was in this one.
I was frozen in shock and fear stopped me from moving to the door.
Then I heard, Adriano’s voice boom, “Melanie!” that had me scrambling off the bed so quickly and I opened the door so fast.
"It was you," I whispered but then I saw the look of urgency in his eyes. "What's wrong?"
“I need your help,” he said.
I stared at him open-mouthed. A quick glance at him from head to toe revealed he was unharmed so I let out a breath of relief. That didn’t stop me from noticing the fact he was wearing a freaking bulletproof vest.
