UNKNOWN P. O. V.
"What do you mean "the plan failed"? You couldn't even capture a tiny, defenseless she-wolf?" I scream at my second in command.
"Yes master, unfortunately the young Alpha of Red Moon saved her."
I rub my fingers over my eyebrows in frustration. "I gave you an army of over four hundred rogue wolves, and you STILL managed to screw things up!"
"Master, they didn't s*******r the entire army, but kept some as prisoners... I believe the prisoners may have talked and that's how the young Alpha was able to foil your plans of capturing the she-wolf," he bows his head in embarrassment at not being able to fulfil his duty and I resist the urge to pummel him to death.
"I have never been more disappointed in you than I am right now, Nathaniel," I almost growl at him. "It's true, if you want something done, you must do it yourself," I sneer and walk over to my window.
I stare out of my office window and see the Luna of Half-Moon, my father's pack, sitting on a bench in the garden and staring out at nothing in particular. Like she always does.
I clench my fists in pure hatred. She's not my Luna, I think in disgust. She's nothing but a weakling... but at least she will be good for one thing. She's my ticket to finally getting the title I, so rightfully, deserve... or rather, her daughter is.
Once I finally have that b***h in my clutches, her mother will bend to my will. She'll do anything to protect her daughter, including convincing my father to hand over the Alpha title to me.
As of yet, I'm nothing but a bastard in my father's eyes. Just the son of one of his "w***e" mistresses.
I slam my hand down on my desk and roar in anger. The windows in my office rattle and shake. "I should be the Alpha of Half-Moon! It is my birthright!"
"Yes, master. You will be... very soon."
I smirk. Yes, very soon indeed.
TYLER'S P. O. V.
School was abuzz with news about Dani being a werewolf - minus the human crowd, of course.
The second I got out of my car and made my way into the building, Hunter started to get excited. He could sense her wolf was finally awake after laying dormant for 18 years.
What's her wolf's name? I ask Hunter.
Juno. I can't wait to see what she looks like. Hunter replies.
I nod in agreement and make my way to the cafeteria to wish my beautiful mate a happy birthday.
I know she kicked me out last night after I dropped the "werewolf" bomb on her, but she'll come around as soon as she accepts this way of life as her own.
The only thing I'm weary of now is how she's going to take the news about being adopted... and the new about who her real parents are.
After a gruesome second interrogation, that ended with the growling wolf losing his life, the other rogue prisoner, decided to talk.
I was finally able to get information about who their master is.
Turns out, Alpha Henry of Half-Moon pack, actually had a son with one of his mistresses, long before Dani's mother fell pregnant with her, but the Alpha refuses to acknowledge his son as his heir.
Now, the bastard son is trying to make a play for the Alpha position and he's looking for the right kind of leverage - A.K.A. Dani.
I need to come clean with Dani as soon as possible and finally tell her all that I know about her family tree... including the one bad apple who's trying to use her for his own personal gain.
As soon as I swing open the cafeteria door, Dani looks up at me with lust swimming in her beautiful hazel eyes.
"Mine!" she shouts.
I can't help but smile. Yes, I'm all yours, baby.
DANI'S P. O. V.
So I'm playing hooky with Tyler again today. I seriously don't know how this boy manages to get me out of school without getting into trouble, but it's one of the questions on my list.
So far on my mental list of questions for Tyler:
One: What's a Mate?
Two: Why do I feel like my loins are on fire for you?
Three: How do I suddenly share headspace with some voice who claims she's my "wolf"?
Some voice? Juno scoffs. I "am" your wolf, by the way.
I ignore her.
Four: How do I get rid of said voice in my head?
You can't! She yells.
Ugh, just go away! I think to myself.
I can't, Dani. I've been here since the day you were born. I've seen what you've seen and I've felt what you've felt. I am a part of you. We share a bond like no other... If you keep pushing me away, you'll open up the doorway for the curse to take over. You might end up with a split wolf.
A split wolf? What the hell is that?
Add it to your list, Juno retorts.
You're a sassy one aren't you? I ask her. I can feel she's smiling at me.
Just shut up and step on the gas already! My mate is too far away from me, she whines.
We're driving in convoy to Tyler's place now so I can finally get some answers.
Just to be clear, I'm not going crazy right? I ask Juno.
She chuckles in reply. You're the one talking to yourself, so maybe you are.
Hah! You're funny too, I laugh out loud at her witty remark. I guess you can stay.
Thank the Goddess, she says and shakes her head at me as we pull up in front of Tyler's mansion.
LORNA'S P. O. V.
"Luna, the Alpha wants to see you in his office," Cole, my personal guard says to me.
My husband can't mind-link me, because I always have a block up. I prefer not to have him invade my personal space more than he already has.
Eighteen years, he's made me his slave. Forced me to be his Luna, forced me into bed with him every night in the hopes of securing an heir. Eighteen damn years of hell!
I'm so ashamed and I've thought about killing myself every day since the day I lost my husband, Isaac, my mate and the true Alpha of Half-Moon pack...
The pain of not only losing my mate, but also my firstborn son, Alexander, was so excruciating to bear. I might have gone insane with grief had it not have been for my unborn baby. I had to push through the pain to save her life.
When everything was settled, I was forced into a marriage with my mate's younger brother, Henry.
Henry is a cold and calculating man. I just know in my heart he's the reason I lost Isaac and Alexander.
I was not going to let him take my innocent unborn baby's life too. So, when I knew my due date was fast approaching, I made a run for it, escaping through the sewerage tunnels under the packhouse.
I couldn't shift into my wolf (being heavily pregnant meant it would harm my baby) so I had to make my escape on foot.
I was on the run for almost 3 days. I stole a car and clothes and food, on a mission to get to the little town of Green Hills. A town my best friend in high school, Colleen Harrison, said she grew up in, and that she wanted to move back to as soon as she graduated.
I was able to track her down by asking some of the locals if they knew a "Colleen" living in town and luckily, one of them was able to point me in the direction of the bookstore.
Sure enough, my best friend was there behind the register. I decided to wait and follow her to her home that night.
I was waiting outside of her house trying to decide on the right moment, when fate decided for me. A heavy storm came crashing down from the heavens and I had no choice. I couldn't stay hidden amongst the trees all evening, I'd freeze to death, so I made my way to the front door of Colleen's house.
Just as I was about to ring the doorbell, I felt warmth running down my legs and looked down. It was blood. I panicked. I rang the doorbell and banged on the door at the same time.
I was terrified of losing the only part of Isaac I still had left... and now my little baby that I fought so hard to protect from Henry, my Daniella, is eighteen years old today. I think about her every single day.
"Miss Lorna, please don't keep the Alpha waiting," Cole says again, bringing me from thoughts.
I nod and follow him inside the packhouse and upstairs to my husband's office.
