~Elvira~ I barely made it into my room before the door shut, blocking me from Vanessa’s stare. I leaned my back against the wood, trying to catch my breath. My room was quiet, but tonight it felt too small. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw that flash of silver that appeared in my eyes, It was not my wolf, it was something else. The silence in my head was worse than the silence of the room. The wooden beads were doing their job again, muffling that hum in my blood until I felt dull. A soft knock sounded. I froze "Who is it?" The door opened without an answer, and Gabriel stepped in. He had taken off his jacket and wore a simple dark shirt. He looked exhausted, but his eyes were fixed on me. "I came to make sure you kept the replacement beads on," he said, his voice low.
