“Two injured, none fatal. But the rogues are growing bolder.” David passed me a detailed report. “They seem more organized than usual. Pack formation patterns have been observed.”
This was concerning. Rogues typically operated alone or in pairs. Pack formation suggested leadership - and that meant trouble.
“Continue,” I instructed, scanning the document.
“The trade agreement with the Southern Pack needs renewal,” David continued. “Alpha Marcus has been particularly insistent about discussing new terms. He’s mentioned something about expanding the timber rights in the shared forest.”
I fought back a sigh. Marcus had always been ambitious, and my absence had likely emboldened him.
“Schedule a meeting, but not immediately. Let’s give him time to stew.”
