I sighed, exhaustion weighing heavily on me, and my back ached as I walked to the closet to get my gown and purse. "I'm going to get dressed, please don't kill yourselves before I return. I suck at explaining things to the cops," I said and turned quickly before either of them could give me a smart reply. When I stepped into the bathroom, I locked the door and pressed my back against it, my chest rising and falling heavily. Everything that had unfolded between us choked me until my legs trembled.
