  Rio hurriedly stepped in front of me. "Gia, wait!"   "I find it funny that you hate my mum the same way you hate olives in your salad," I snapped, my voice now sharp with annoyance.   "But the only time you two seem to be on the same side is when it comes to ruining my life and giving me headaches. That's Neanderthal behavior, Rio!"   He raised his hands in surrender, guilt written across his face. "I know. I'm sorry I dragged you here on a day you're supposed to rest. Forgive me."   "So you used Celeste to press information out of Jackson and then tricked me into coming here? Just to talk?" I scoffed, throwing my hands in the air. "I don't even know who to be mad at anymore!"   "I just needed to see you," he pleaded, and for a moment, I genuinely wanted to slap him across the face.
