  The sharp wail of alarms shattered the hospital's fragile calm. Jackson was halfway through his midnight coffee when the overhead speaker boomed:   "Code Blue! Code Blue in OR three!"   His heart stopped. OR three. Rio's room.   Jack sprinted, his swiping a cap as he ran, coffee forgotten, the burn of fear clawing up his throat.   He burst through the scrub doors, already snapping on gloves. The scene inside was chaos. Nurses swarmed around the table, monitors screeching red.
