Chapter 3: Gems beyond measure (Part II)

1223 Words
When I arrived back on the chair, Momma already prepared the tortu- I mean the tools that she would need for the make-up session… Within the same time frame, Momma already changed her dress while wearing a few jewelry just to have this moment for herself. The maids including Nanny sat me down on the not so comfy elevated chair. Momma and Nanny used their wind magic to dry my hair. Using a reddish-colored stone on top of the wind, the sensation is similar to a blow dryer. A few minutes have passed and the rest of the maids went out of the room to fix our luggage. There are only eight people here including Momma, Nanny, and me (literally shivering in fear)… Momma pulled two different-sized brushes and dabbed it on a powdery substance which I assume would be foundation. My face is slowly being messed with to put some color on my cheeks and eyelids. Then we stopped after laying the necessary tones and proceeded with my dress. Momma showed me a velvet, floral designed, turtle-necked, long sleeve gown with beautiful embroidery on the chest area down to the creases. The design is very simple yet clean and sophisticated to look at. Due to my pinkish white skin and glossy dark hair, colors such as these are very eye catchy to other people. The back portion is actually exposed, which is a common design for most Umbral clothing to expose the lineage tattoo. I still don’t have one of those so I guess only my skin would be enough to make it through. As soon as I finished wearing my undies, they began to help me wear the gown. I hurriedly went to the large mirror to look at myself, and girl am I surprised! Momma anticipated my excitement and asked me, “Eka, can you face this direction and give us a twirl!” Hmm… I actually remember something back at earth when I was watching one of those Victoria’s Secret runway shows during my spare time. The weather is actually nice and the fading sunshine is facing the direction of my back, giving me a rather glowing silhouette. I asked the maids to turn some of the lights leaving only the lights near Momma’s location. I used a bit of my magic to create a magic fluctuation, causing glitters to come out of my body making my location glow. Then I took a step forward using my left foot then twirled clockwise; letting the gown unfold itself before returning to my position.  Exposing my back’s flawless skin, I held my waist using my right hand while looking at Momma’s direction with a calm and innocent smile. This is how you nail a catwalk finisher, Isekai style! (Internal Celebration going on)… Momma dropped her brushes and the rest of the maids were in awe. I used the sunlight from the balcony to add more to the atmosphere but I didn’t expect they would exaggerate their responses this much. “Is there something wrong with my face Momma?” I asked innocently… I feel like panicking all of a sudden. “WAAAAAHHH!?” Oh s**t… Momma lunged at me and hugged my frail body before carrying me like a princess! The other maids and Nanny are cheering for me just because I did what they asked! “My Eka is so pretty!” Momma added as she finally decided to let me go. Nanny went close and held my hands, “You need to bring them down Milady!” I can sense her channeling her fierce determination to me but where da f**k would I even use that?! “Shhh, ladies we are not done with her make over!” They snapped and their military faces went back, this time however, I can see their flaming auras over 9000! I went back to the elevated chair as Momma began to continue the make-up session. Nanny Katalina and the rest of the maids brushed my hair while spraying some sort of damp mixture on my hair. It smells like a lemon-mint combined. It’s soft on the nose and nostalgic at the same time. This persisted for five minutes until they used wind magic again to dry my hair before tying it into a cinnamon bun. Then they attached magically preserved flowers on my hair but I feel something is missing… “Momma, do you have some sort of stick-like ornament that you could use on my hair?” I remember that I usually take home Chopsticks every time I go to a Japanese restaurant. I use the chopsticks as a clip for my hair whenever I’m reading books or speed running certain games. “Ornament? You mean like this?” Momma picked up a jewelry box and from there, she pulled a small silver like ornament similar to an ice pick. Overall it looks like a wand with a large red gem embedded at the end of the handle.   “Yes, yes! Gimme gimme!” Everybody in the room is curious about what I would do. I forgot that since the world is western-based, the usage of this isn’t as popular as hair bands or jeweled combs. I started focusing on my hair as I spun it round and round the icepick. Then I burrowed the rest of the icepick inside my cinnamon rolled hair bun to make sure it doesn’t budge. I had the maids add the remaining flowers on my hair to compliment my look. “Damn…” That’s the first time I heard Nanny Katalina say that. Well, kinda my fault since I’m the one who says unusual remarks. “Where did you learn this?” Momma is starting to interrogate. I thought of the most obvious one since I see most of our maids carry blades with them as a form of self-defense weapon. I think I could use it as an excuse. From what I’ve heard, even Nanny Katalina has five knives inside of her gown. If you’re curious how she manages to hide it, I don’t wanna know... “Hmm… I’ve seen Nanny carry weapons before to protect herself. And since I’m surrounded by a lot of new people I have to also protect myself somehow. Eka still can’t use magic well so this is my choice.” Momma and the rest of the maids were in awe of my answer. “Oh dear!” Momma hugged me, worried by my way of thinking. “You don’t have to be afraid of them. Besides, Momma and Daddy will be there too so you’ll be safe no matter what.” Speaking of daddy, “Momma where’s daddy?” “Right, right! Why is he missing such a beautiful moment?!” Guess daddy is busy doing something perhaps? “Katalina, Drag his ass over here!” Wtf?! Did she just say drag?? In the next few minutes, I can hear some bickering on the hallways until Daddy finally arrived in my room. From the looks of it, he is trying to choose the right coat for the occasion. “Daddy look at our little girl!” Momma proudly showed me to Daddy while I was sitting on the chair. By the time he arrived, the make-up is already done and I’ve worn my perfume too.  (To Be Continued)
