Silence.
Xander and I stare at him, both of us totally frozen with racing hearts.
“Jade..?” Josh says eventually, giving me a confused look.
“..did you say you saw Travis? Like.. my Travis??” I clarify, my voice cracking a little due to my throat going completely dry.
I feel the simultaneous pang of sadness from me and jealousy from Xander. We lock eyes instinctively. I take a deep breath and he nods.. almost like we’re both acknowledging the pattern.
“Yes. He did this to me without so much as an explanation of what the f*ck is going on.” Josh seethes. He tries to take a step forward but is halted at the door. “What the hell??” He looks around.
“Come in Josh.” I say and Xander steps back making room for him to enter. He takes a step through again, tentatively this time.
