AYLA’S POV
I looked up at the tree. I wasn’t sure what I thought I’d see when we found it, but an entirely golden tree with whole, ripe apples wasn’t it. I thought maybe a normal-looking tree with some gold apples, perhaps, but not one that was completely gold. It was breathtaking as it glimmered in the setting sun.
I turned towards Ares. “The sun is setting. But we’re not on Earth, right?”
Ares was staring at the tree and turned towards me. “Correct. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have sunsets and sunrises. Our realm mimics Earth in many ways.”
“And the celestial realm? What’s that like?”
He shrugged a shoulder. “Cold. Dark. Much like you’d expect something in space would be.”
My jaw dropped. “We’re going to space?”
He laughed. “No, no. But it is celestial, as is in the name.”
