Nash stormed out of his office, a look of rage on his face. “Viktor, Frankie, what did you
find?” he snapped.
“We checked out all the old abandoned warehouses again. I also just got off the phone with
Pauly over in Maddox and he had every abandoned structure there rechecked. He’s now moving
on to occupied places,” Viktor answered.
“Well, if Manny still hasn’t been found, what the hell are you two doing just sitting around
here? One of our own’s son is missing, damn it, and I won’t let any stone be left unturned. Viktor,
how about that griffion guy, what’s his name? Baldwin? I want you to call Destrain and ask if they
can spare him for a few days. He’s a pixie, a large one, but still a pixie, right? He has special
abilities. Maybe he can think of some kind of magic spell or potion or whatever the f**k that can
help locate him. We’re talking about the fairies here who took Manny, and who better to have a
handle on them than a pixie?” Nash barked out.
“I was thinking maybe we could find that guy Nick spoke of. You know, the fairy guy who
met with Nick and his mate a few weeks back,” Frankie offered.
“That’s a good idea. Call Nick and see if he knows how to get in touch with him. I know we
are fighting against the fairies right now, but this guy may be different. With him meeting with
Nick and Jagger and helping them out with their problem, maybe we can ask him for help, too.
Get on that, Frankie,” Nash ordered then turned around and headed for his office.
“Right away, Cap,” Frankie answered and jumped from his chair. Just as he was about to
head out of the squad room, the door opened and in walked Marco, with two cute twinkish guys
and…Manny?
“Holy s**t. Marco, where do you find him?” Frankie asked frantically.
“Nash! I think you better come back out here!” Viktor yelled.
“Didn’t I give you two orde…holy s**t, Manny. Where in the hell have you been, son? We’ve
been going crazy looking for you. Your fathers are going out of their f*****g minds. Marco where
did you find him?” Nash answered.
“I found these three walking down the street headed this way. I pulled over thinking these
two were involved with taking Manny, but he says they were the ones who found him and rescued
him, so I gave them a lift the rest of the way here,” Marco replied.
“Somebody call Angelo and Morgan. While you’re at it, call Illan and Justice,” Nash said.
“Already on it, boss,” Viktor announced as he was dialing.
“Let’s get you all into my office and talk. Manny, are you alright? Do you need medical
attention?” Nash asked in concern.
“No. Thanks, Nash, I’m okay. I wasn’t hurt,” Manny answered.
“Good. Come on, let’s go talk in my office,” Nash said and escorted Manny and the other
two into his office. Once they all sat, Nash moved behind his desk and sat, too.
“So where have you been, Manny? Who are you two? And how did you find him?”
“Well…um…” the little guy with the freaky hair said hesitantly. The kid had half his head
brown and half his head white.
“We found him. Like a lost wallet and now we are bringing him to you. Hey, if his rightful owner doesn’t claim him in a few weeks can we keep him?” the other one with the robin’s egg
colored hair teased.
“Ollie, now is not the time,” the first one admonished as he rolled his eyes.
“I was able to reach your brother again and he said he was almost here,” Marco stated as he
peeked his head in the office door.
“Your brother?” Nash asked with a raised brow.
“How about my dads?” Manny asked anxiously.
“They’re on their way, squirt. Angelo screamed so loud I think he broke poor Vik’s eardrum.
They said to sit on you if I had to, to make sure you didn’t move until they got here. Shouldn’t take
them more than a few minutes. They were over at Twixie’s grabbing some lunch before they
headed out on another lead looking for you,” Marco answered.
“Thanks, Marco,” Manny replied.
“So, Manny, where have you been? And who took you? All we know is that it was some
green guy and we knew that meant he was a fairy,” Nash questioned.
“I don’t know who he was. He never gave me his name,” Manny replied nervously as he
looked down at his hands.
“Sorry, but the chief won’t be talking to the “so called” press today. You’ll have to come
back another time,” Marco stated from the doorway. Nash looked to find the hot little reporter, or
actually, non-reporter, standing in his doorway looking nervous.
“You called me and told me my brothers were here, Marco. May I see them? Are they
alright?” Ren asked as he tried to look around Marco into Nash’s office.
“These are your brothers?” Nash asked in frustration.
“Yes,” Ren answered indignantly. “And you don’t have to say it like that. These, what are
they, lost shoes?” Ren snapped.
“Hey, Toby,” the one named Ollie said excitedly and waved.
“Toby?” Nash said with a raised brow. Every time his ma…this man walked into his life, he
was learning something new.
“Are my brothers in trouble? Are they hurt? Why are they here? And can I take them now?”
Ren asked nervously, ignoring Nash’s question.
“They’re not in any trouble. Actually, they’re heroes from what I’ve been able to find out.
Your brothers…” Nash hedged, looking between the two.
“Oh, sorry. I’m Oliver and that’s Pascal.”
“Thank you. Your brothers are the ones who found Manny. And seeing as we have been
pulling this town and a few others apart for over a month looking for him, I have a few questions
before you can take them home,” Nash responded.
“Home, pfft,” Oliver grumbled under his breath as he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms
over his chest.
“Not now, Ollie. Just answer Nash’s, I mean, the police chief’s questions so we can go,”
Ren admonished.
“So, what should we call you now, Ren or Toby?” Pascal asked angrily.
“Stop. Just call me Toby like always,” Ren whispered.
“Enough of the Ren and Toby crap, you’re giving me a damn headache. What the hell is your
real name?” Nash demanded, shooting daggers from his eyes at Ren Ren stared Nash down with the same amount of heat in his eyes, then finally he conceded.
“Fine! My name is Toby, okay?” he huffed and threw his arms in the air.
Nash gave him a wicked smirk. “Okay. Now was that so hard? It’s about time you finally
told me something that was true.”
“Oh, screw you. Like you deserve my truth,” Toby replied as he crossed his arms over his
chest as he continued to look at Nash as if he wanted to rip his head off.
“Oh, my god! If I didn’t know any better, I would say you two were mates,” Ollie declared.
“Only people who are that hot and horny for each other have that much fire in them toward one
another.”
Both Nash and Toby’s eyes widened slightly before Nash schooled his features and Toby
turned away. But before anyone could question their actions further, a loud voice bellowed into
the room.
“Manny! Where is he, Vik? Manny!” Angelo yelled as he ran through the squad room and
stepped into Nash’s office, then froze as his gaze landed on Manny. Morgan came in behind him
and the two of them just stared at Manny for a few moments before they leaped forward and
Morgan pulled Manny to his feet, then the two of them engulfed him in their arms.
“Where were you? Are you alright? Are you hurt? How did you get here? Did that dead man
touch you? If he touched you, he better start running now because there is nowhere on this fucking
planet he can hide. Morgan and I will hunt him down if it takes forever and make him suffer for
laying a finger on you,” Angelo said rapidly, not giving Manny a chance to speak.
“Dad, Pops, I’m okay. He didn’t hurt me. He didn’t touch me. Well, only to take me, but he
didn’t harm me. I’m fine, I promise,” Manny said as he pulled back from their hold.
Morgan kept a hand on Manny’s shoulder and his eyes filled with fatherly love as he smiled
at Manny. “I’m glad you’re okay, son, and so happy to have you home. Do you know where he
took you?”
“I had no idea where I was except that I was being held in this really swank place that
looked like a palace. Well, the room I was in looked like it belonged in a palace. And from what
these guys tell me, I was gone for almost two months, but to me I was only gone for a few days,”
Manny explained.
“A few days?” Angelo gasped.
“So, if you two had nothing to do with Manny’s disappearance, how did you know where he
was?” Nash asked Pascal and Oliver suspiciously.
“My brothers had nothing to do with this. They don’t know any green men and have been
with me at…” Toby yelled then caught himself.
Nash raised a brow at Toby’s, rather Ren’s, outburst. He knew the hot man was hiding things
from him since their first encounter and with each time they crossed paths, he found out a little
more. Well, he had had enough. Nash was now determined to find out everything he could about
Toby and his brothers. He would find out what they were hiding. Illan and Justice had accepted
all three of them into the fold months ago, yet Toby had never brought his brothers to Crystal to
meet the leaders.
“Even though Manny is hot as f**k, we didn’t take him. Although, if I had met him before
today, I can’t promise I wouldn’t have tried to take him myself and make myself his s*x slave.
Rowr,” Ollie said with a growl at the end. “Jesus,” both Toby and Pascal hissed at the same time as they rolled their eyes, and Toby’s
face flushed pink.
“Not now, Ollie. This is not the time or place to f**k around,” Pascal admonished.
“Can I take my brothers now? Manny is home and safe and back with his dads,” Toby asked.
“No. Even though I believe your brothers had nothing to do with Manny’s disappearance,
they were the ones who found him. So, I want to know where you found him and how?” Nash said
and looked to the colorful duo intently.
When the blue haired cutie went to open his mouth, his brother, Pascal cut him off and gave
him a pointed look. “I’ll explain. You get too off track with your mouth sometimes.” Pascal then
turned to look at Nash and began explaining how they came to find Manny, in the f*****g pixie
realm, no less.
“So, this fairy guy took Manny to the pixie realm? How the hell did a fairy get into the pixie
realm?” Angelo asked.
“How the hell did you two get into the pixie realm?” Nash asked at the same time Morgan
spoke.
“Who was he? Did he give his name?” Morgan asked.
Nash could see something cross Manny’s eyes, but it left quickly. Then Manny nervously
looked to Oliver and Pascal and pleaded with them with his eyes. Nash didn’t know what all that
was about, but he had a feeling Manny did know this fairy’s name, but for some reason he wasn’t
saying.
“No. He never said his name,” Manny replied, not looking at either Morgan or Angelo.
Nash could tell he was lying. He didn’t know why, and he wouldn’t push for more answers
now, but he hoped Manny would confide in his fathers later when they were home alone.
“Can we go now?” Toby asked.
Nash met his gaze and for a moment he saw fear in the hot little man’s eyes. Did Toby
actually know something about all of this? Nash knew Oliver and Pascal were telling the truth, but
maybe they had no idea their brother was involved. Nash would have to keep a closer eye on the
cute Santorini fox.
“Yes, you may go for now, but keep yourselves available in case I need to ask any more
questions,” Nash responded.
“Fine. Marco has my number,” Toby replied then motioned for his brothers to follow.
“Can we get Manny home now, too, Nash? I think he needs some rest and a home cooked
meal,” Angelo said and wrapped an arm around Manny’s waist.
“Of course. Take your boy home and take care of him. Also, keep an eye on him. This fairy is
still out there somewhere and if he returns and finds Manny gone, we don’t know what he’ll do.
Welcome home, Manny. I’m here if you remember anything,” Nash said and gave him a pointed
look.
